The New England Patriots have released wide receiver John Jiles and tight end Marshall Lang, the team announced on Monday.
Jiles, 25, concluded two seasons on the Patriots' practice squad before signing a futures contract with the team on February 10. Despite his tenure, he never appeared in a regular-season game. Jiles originally joined the NFL as a rookie free agent in 2024, signing with the New York Giants.
Lang, 24, had two separate stints on the Patriots' practice squad last season and also spent time on the Seattle Seahawks' practice squad. He entered the NFL as a rookie free agent from Northwestern University in 2025 but was released by Seattle before the regular season began.
During his college career at Northwestern, Lang played in 47 games, recording 48 receptions for 491 yards and four touchdowns.
