Baltimore Ravens General Manager Eric DeCosta acknowledged the team’s missed opportunity to bolster its center position during the NFL Draft, calling the situation “unfortunate.” He also noted that the cost of trading up to acquire a preferred prospect was likely too high.

Speaking on WBAL and reported by Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com, DeCosta emphasized that the Ravens remain committed to finding a solution for the position, which became vacant when Tyler Linderbaum signed with the Las Vegas Raiders as a free agent.

Ravens Explore Trade Options to Fill Center Void

DeCosta expressed confidence in the team’s scouting process, suggesting it could lead to a trade that strengthens the roster at center. “It didn’t work out for us this past weekend,” he said. “I think there may be some potential trades we can look at and some other things we can do to address that position.”

The Ravens currently have Danny Pinter, Jovaughn Gwyn, and Corey Bullock on their roster at center. However, DeCosta’s comments indicate the team may pursue further changes before the 2024 season opener.
