reMarkable, the Norwegian company known for its E-Ink tablets, has introduced Paper Pure, a new entry-level slate designed to appeal to corporate buyers. The device is positioned as a more affordable alternative to the existing Paper Pro and Paper Pro 12.1 models, with a starting price of $349.

The Paper Pure features a 10.3-inch E Ink Carta display, the same screen technology used in reMarkable’s premium models. This monochrome display supports 24 levels of grayscale, providing a paper-like reading experience with minimal eye strain. The device is 7.5mm thick and weighs 420 grams, making it lightweight and portable for on-the-go professionals.

Unlike its higher-end counterparts, the Paper Pure omits some advanced features to keep costs down. It does not include a camera or microphone, and it lacks the reMarkable Connect subscription service for cloud sync. Instead, users can manually transfer files via USB or Wi-Fi. The tablet runs on reMarkable’s proprietary operating system, optimized for note-taking and document reading.

The Paper Pure is powered by a 1.8GHz dual-core processor and comes with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, which is expandable via microSD card. Battery life is rated for up to 14 days of typical use, depending on settings and usage patterns.

reMarkable positions the Paper Pure as an ideal tool for professionals, students, and businesses looking for a distraction-free digital notebook. The company highlights its low blue light emission and adjustable warm light for comfortable reading in various lighting conditions. The tablet also supports stylus input, though the stylus is sold separately.

In a statement, reMarkable CEO Magne Furuholmen said:

"We’re excited to bring Paper Pure to market as part of our mission to help people focus on what matters. By offering an affordable E-Ink tablet, we’re making it easier for businesses and individuals to embrace distraction-free productivity."

The Paper Pure is now available for purchase directly from reMarkable’s website and select retailers. The tablet is offered in black or white finishes and comes with a one-year limited warranty.
