Rep. David Scott (D-Ga.), a longtime Democratic congressman from Georgia, has died at the age of 80, a senior House Democrat familiar with the matter confirmed to Axios.
Scott served in Congress for more than two decades, representing Georgia’s 13th Congressional District. His death was first reported by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, which received confirmation from his office.
Scott’s office did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Axios.
