SAG-AFTRA and the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) have reached a tentative agreement on a new contract to replace the 2023 SAG-AFTRA TV/Theatrical Contracts.
The agreement covers key sectors including:
- Motion pictures
- Scripted primetime dramatic television
- Streaming content
- New media

The tentative deal is subject to approval by the SAG-AFTRA National Board, which will convene in the coming days to review the terms. Specific details will not be disclosed until after the Board’s review.
Negotiations between the two parties began on February 9 and recessed on March 15. Talks resumed on April 27 and concluded on May 2, 2026.
The agreement must also be ratified by a vote of the approximately 160,000 members of SAG-AFTRA before it can take effect.
