The New Orleans Saints are set to meet with free agent cornerback Martin Emerson on Tuesday, according to NFL Media insider Ian Rapoport. The visit could mark a potential addition to the team’s secondary.
Emerson’s NFL Background and Injury History
Martin Emerson was selected in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns. His 2025 season was cut short after he suffered a torn Achilles during training camp, forcing him to miss the entire year.
During his tenure with the Browns, Emerson started 34 of the 51 regular season and playoff games he appeared in. Over that span, he recorded 204 tackles, four interceptions, one sack, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
Saints’ Current Secondary Landscape
The Saints have already drafted defensive backs Lorenzo Styles and TJ Hall in recent drafts. Additionally, their top returning cornerbacks include Kool-Aid McKinstry, Quincy Riley, and Isaac Yiadom.
