Sony is attempting to clarify the functionality of its AI Camera Assistant feature on the Xperia 1 XIII after receiving criticism for a recent demonstration.

The company emphasizes that the AI Camera Assistant does not edit photos. Instead, it offers suggestions based on factors such as lighting, depth, and subject. When pointed at a scene, the feature provides four options for adjusting exposure, color, and background blur.

In a product video, Sony claims the AI Camera Assistant can also recommend "the most photogenic angle." However, the demonstration only showed the feature suggesting a zoom-in action, which differs from suggesting an actual camera angle.

The examples Sony shared on social media platform X were perceived as an improvement over the initial video, though they still sparked debate about the feature's practicality.
