Sony has officially clarified the confusion surrounding a new Digital Rights Management (DRM) system on PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 consoles. Reports suggested that the latest system updates required users to go online every 30 days to validate game licenses, but the company has now refuted those claims.

In a statement to GameSpot, a spokesperson for Sony Interactive Entertainment confirmed:

"A one-time online check is required to confirm the game's license, after which no further check-ins are required."

The rumors had sparked concerns among gamers that failing to sign in monthly would result in losing access to their games. However, Sony’s clarification confirms that this is not the case.
