Nintendo has expanded the Nintendo Switch 2’s summer release lineup with the announcement of Splatoon Raiders, a new spinoff in the beloved Splatoon franchise. The game is set to launch on July 23.

This marks the first spin-off title in the series and blends single-player adventure with multiplayer functionality. Unlike traditional Splatoon games, Splatoon Raiders is designed with a strong single-player focus while still offering cooperative gameplay.

The game was first revealed in June 2025 under the working title Splatoon Raiders, a playful nod to Tomb Raider.

Gameplay and Story

In Splatoon Raiders, players take on the role of a mechanic who explores the Spirhalite Islands in search of treasure. Customization is a key feature, allowing players to personalize their character’s appearance before embarking on their adventure.

Players will team up with Deep Cut, a fictional band introduced in Splatoon 3, to upgrade weapons and take on enemy sea creatures. The game’s vibrant, ink-filled action and unconventional weaponry draw comparisons to Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart.

Notable gameplay elements include mounting Big Man, a manta ray member of Deep Cut, to traverse the battlefield. Players can also unleash creative attacks, such as firing a shark at swarms of enemies.

Multiplayer Features

Splatoon Raiders includes a dedicated multiplayer mode, allowing players to team up with up to three friends—either locally or online—to tackle raids together. The game supports local wireless and online multiplayer, enabling seamless cooperative play.

Nintendo has also announced an Amiibo pack featuring the three members of Deep Cut, Deep Cut Amiibo, which will be released alongside the game.

Don’t abandon the squad just yet – #SplatoonRaiders also lets you invite up to three friends to join you on raids via local wireless or online multiplayer!
