The Pittsburgh Steelers executed a trade to secure the No. 47 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, selecting wide receiver Germie Bernard from the University of Alabama.

Bernard’s collegiate career spanned four seasons across three programs: one year at Michigan State, one at Washington, and two at Alabama. His most productive seasons came in 2024 and 2025, where he led the Crimson Tide in receptions. In 2025 alone, Bernard amassed 64 catches for 862 yards and seven touchdowns.

This move follows a previous draft-day mix-up by the Steelers involving receiver Makai Lemon, prompting Pittsburgh to pivot and acquire Bernard. The trade details were finalized when the Steelers sent their No. 53, No. 135, and No. 237 picks to the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for the No. 47 and No. 249 selections. As a result, Indianapolis’ first pick in the 2026 draft is now set at No. 53.
