Universal/Illumination’s The Super Mario Galaxy Movie has once again topped the box office, earning $35 million in its third weekend. This brings its domestic total to $355 million and its global earnings to $747 million.

The film’s strong performance follows a weekend that exceeded projections, particularly on Saturday. With an additional $48 million from international markets, the Nintendo sequel is nearing a global total of $750 million.

Japan’s theatrical release, timed to coincide with the country’s Golden Week holiday, is expected to add another $100 million-plus to the film’s earnings, beginning next weekend.
