Taylor Frankie Paul has revealed her evolving relationships with contestants from her shelved Bachelorette Season 22, despite the personal and legal challenges that led to the season's cancellation.
The reality star, known for her role in Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and her planned lead role on ABC’s dating competition series, shared an update on her Instagram on Friday evening. In a video featuring Shane Parton, one of her on-camera suitors for Season 22, Paul addressed rumors about contestant reactions to the season’s cancellation.
"Oddly we became closer," Paul wrote in the video caption. She added, "Handful of them have shown consistent kindness this entire time. [Shane Parton] tell your parents they can come visit now that I got extra space."

Why Was 'The Bachelorette' Season 22 Shelved?
In March, ABC abruptly pulled Paul’s season of The Bachelorette just days before its planned premiere. The decision followed the surfacing of a video showing a 2023 domestic violence incident between Paul and her ex, Dakota Mortensen, which resulted in her arrest.
The incident was documented in Season 1 of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, where footage showed Paul throwing metal barstools at Mortensen and, inadvertently, her daughter. Both parties have since exchanged accusations of abuse.
Legal Outcome and Hulu Show Resumption
In April, the Salt Lake County district attorney declined to file charges against Paul, stating:
"Several incidents that were submitted do not rise to the level of criminal offenses. The remaining incidents lack sufficient evidence to support filing criminal charges where the State must be able to prove such allegations beyond a reasonable doubt. Such incidents lack specificity as to when and what actually occurred or corroboration."
A week later, Paul’s Hulu series, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, resumed filming for Season 5.
What’s Next for 'The Bachelorette' Season 22?
As of now, there has been no official announcement regarding the future of The Bachelorette Season 22. The season was notably absent from ABC’s summer programming slate, despite earlier rumors suggesting otherwise.
Meanwhile, ABC has renewed several of its popular franchises, including The Bachelor, Bachelor in Paradise, and Dancing with the Stars, for new seasons in the 2026-27 TV season.
