Tesla discontinued its free lifetime Supercharging program in 2018 but has occasionally reintroduced the perk through limited-time promotions. The automaker previously offered free Supercharging for Model S and Model X buyers in 2019.

Now, Tesla is extending a similar incentive to customers purchasing a Model 3 Premium or Model 3 Performance in North America. According to the company’s official website, the promotion includes one year of free Supercharging with the purchase of either vehicle.

The offer is subject to change or end at any time, as noted by Tesla. While the free Supercharging benefit may not influence the decision of home-charging owners, it presents a valuable opportunity for those without home charging infrastructure.

The complimentary Supercharging period begins at vehicle delivery and cannot be deferred or exchanged for cash. Owners must still cover additional fees, including congestion charges applied if a vehicle remains plugged into a Supercharger after its battery reaches 80% at a busy site.

The promotion excludes vehicles used for commercial purposes, such as ridesharing, taxi services, or delivery operations.

For customers who traded in gas-powered vehicles to qualify for Tesla’s 2,000-mile Supercharging incentive, the new one-year free Supercharging offer applies first. These customers may redeem the 2,000 miles after completing their first year of ownership.
