The Houston Texans have completed a key roster move, finalizing a rookie contract with second-round draft pick Kayden McDonald on Saturday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.
McDonald’s fully guaranteed deal is worth just over $12.9 million, securing his spot with the team following his selection as the No. 36 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
During the draft process, McDonald stood out as the last player remaining in the green room in Pittsburgh when he was chosen on Day 2. His selection capped off a standout collegiate career in which he earned first-team All-Big Ten honors and was named the Big Ten Defensive Lineman of the Year in 2025.
