President Donald Trump told Axios in a brief phone call on Sunday that he would reject Iran’s response to the latest draft agreement intended to end the war between the two nations.

The U.S. had waited 10 days for Iran’s formal reply, which was delivered on Sunday. The White House had anticipated that Iran’s positions might reflect further progress toward a potential deal, but Trump’s immediate reaction suggested otherwise.

Trump’s Reaction to Iran’s Response

During the interview, Trump described Iran’s response as unacceptable, stating:

"I don't like their letter. It's inappropriate. I don't like their response," Trump said. He declined to elaborate on the specifics of Iran’s reply, adding, "They have been tapping along many nations for 47 years."

Discussions with Israeli Prime Minister

Trump also revealed that he had spoken with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday to discuss Iran’s response and other regional matters.

"It was a very nice call. We have a good relationship," Trump said of Netanyahu, though he emphasized that the Iran negotiations remain "my situation, not everybody else's."

Uncertainty Over Next Steps

In the short interview, Trump did not clarify whether the U.S. would continue negotiations with Iran or consider alternative measures, such as military action.
