UK iPhone and iPad Users Can Now Access Pornhub and Aylo Sites

Aylo, the parent company behind Pornhub and other major adult entertainment platforms, has announced that UK-based iPhone and iPad users can once again access its sites. This follows a three-month ban enforced due to the UK’s age verification law under the Online Safety Act.

As of Tuesday, users running iOS 26.4 or later in the UK can visit Pornhub and Aylo’s other platforms, including RedTube, YouPorn, and Brazzers, from their devices.

Apple’s Age Verification Requirements

Apple introduced new age verification rules on April 29, requiring users to confirm they are 18 or older. Accepted methods include:

  • A credit card registered to the user
  • Scanning a passport, driver’s license, or one of the following PASS-accredited Proof of Age cards:
    • CitizenCard
    • My ID Card
    • TOTUM ID card
    • Young Scot National Entitlement Card

Note: Debit cards and gift cards are not supported.

Apple also stated that web content filters and communication safety tools are automatically enabled for children and adults who have not confirmed their age.

Background: The UK Ban and Online Safety Act

In January 2024, Aylo announced that starting February 2, UK-based visitors would be restricted from accessing its sites unless they had already verified their age. Previously, UK users could verify their age by entering a credit card number or uploading government-issued ID to an age estimation system called All Pass Trust.

Aylo and Ethical Capital Partners (ECP), which acquired Aylo in 2023, criticized the UK’s Online Safety Act, calling it a failure. The law, which took effect in 2025, requires adult sites to implement age verification or face severe penalties, including fines up to 10% of global revenues or potential jail time.

Industry Response to Age Verification Laws

Experts argue that site-based age verification is ineffective at preventing minors from accessing harmful content. Instead, it often drives them toward unregulated platforms. Additionally, such laws restrict adults’ ability to consume legal adult entertainment and work in the industry.

The adult entertainment industry has advocated for device-based verification and parental controls as alternatives. However, these measures remain controversial among free speech and internet access advocacy groups.

In the U.S., over half of states have implemented strict age verification laws. In many cases, Aylo blocks access to its sites in these regions and urges users to contact their representatives to voice concerns.

This marks the first instance where Aylo has reinstated access to its platforms in the UK following the enforcement of the Online Safety Act.
