The Minnesota Vikings are continuing their search for a new general manager, adding three more candidates to their interview list, according to NFL Media’s Tom Pelissero.

New GM Candidates Interviewed by the Vikings

The Vikings have requested interviews with the following candidates for their open general manager position:

  • Ray Agnew – Assistant General Manager of the Detroit Lions
  • Reed Burckhardt – Assistant General Manager of the Denver Broncos
  • Kyle Smith – Assistant General Manager of the Miami Dolphins

Background of Each Candidate

Ray Agnew

Agnew joined the Lions in 2021 under General Manager Brad Holmes. Prior to his role with the Lions, he served as the director of player personnel for the Los Angeles Rams.

Reed Burckhardt

Burckhardt has been the Broncos’ director of player personnel since 2022. Before joining Denver, he spent 13 years with the Vikings as a pro scout.

Kyle Smith

Smith is in his first season with the Dolphins after previously serving as the Falcons’ director of player personnel from 2023 to 2025. His NFL career includes roles with the Washington Commanders from 2010 to 2020, where he rose to vice president of player personnel before transitioning to the Falcons in 2021.

Current GM Search Pool

With the addition of Agnew, Burckhardt, and Smith, the Vikings now have a total of nine external candidates under consideration for the general manager role. The only internal candidate in the mix is Rob Brzezinski, the team’s current vice president of player personnel.

  • RJ Gillen – Assistant GM, San Francisco 49ers
  • Terrance Gray – Assistant GM, Buffalo Bills
