Free agent running back Austin Ekeler has been medically cleared for all football activities, according to a report by Aaron Wilson of KPRC.
Ekeler, who will turn 31 next week, has announced his intention to return to play in 2026.
The nine-year NFL veteran suffered a torn Achilles tendon in Week 2 of last season. In his second year with the Washington Commanders, Ekeler recorded 19 touches for 81 yards.
During the 2024 season, Ekeler appeared in 12 games for Washington, accumulating:
- 367 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 77 carries
- 366 receiving yards on 35 receptions
- An average of 31.3 yards on 19 kickoff returns
Over the course of his career, Ekeler has amassed:
- 1,561 touches
- 9,053 total yards
- 73 touchdowns
