Christina Applegate, the 54-year-old actress best known for her roles in Anchorman, Bad Moms, and Netflix’s Dead to Me, publicly addressed her health for the first time since reports emerged of her weeks-long hospitalization.

Diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS) in 2021 while filming the final season of Dead to Me, Applegate expressed gratitude for the overwhelming support from her fans in an Instagram post on Monday.

“Thank you for the outpouring of love and well wishes,” she wrote. “Health issues are a constant for me, but I’m a strong chick and I’m getting stronger and better every day. I’m taking a moment to focus on my health, but I’ll be back with more to say soon enough.”

The post featured a photograph of a white “Kissy Kissy” mug placed on top of a copy of her memoir You With the Side Eyes, which was released in March.
