The Cleveland Browns have addressed their offensive line need by selecting Spencer Fano, an offensive tackle from the University of Utah, with the No. 9 overall pick in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft.

Fano brings versatility to the Browns' roster, having started games on both the left and right tackle positions during his collegiate career. As a freshman in 2023, he started 11 games at left tackle and one game at right tackle. In 2024 and 2025, Fano exclusively started at right tackle, earning prestigious honors for his performance.

His standout college career culminated in receiving the Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year award and the Outland Trophy, presented annually to the nation’s best interior lineman.

In total, Fano started 25 games at right tackle and 11 at left tackle during his time at Utah.

Draft Day Moves by the Browns

The Browns executed a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs to secure the No. 9 overall pick. Cleveland acquired the No. 9, No. 74, and No. 148 picks in exchange for the Chiefs’ No. 6 overall selection.

Additionally, the Browns retained their own first-round pick at No. 24 overall in the 2025 NFL Draft.
