The New York Giants made two first-round selections in the 2025 NFL Draft, addressing both defensive and offensive needs. At pick No. 5, the Giants selected Ohio State linebacker Arvell Reese, a standout defender with a strong collegiate resume. With the 10th overall pick, the team turned to the University of Miami to select offensive tackle Francis Mauigoa.

This marks the third time in six years that the Giants have secured two first-round draft picks, demonstrating their strategic approach to roster building. The team also took steps to retain key offensive talent by re-signing veteran right tackle Jermaine Eluemunor, who logged a career-high 1,088 offensive snaps in the 2024 season.

Mauigoa, a dominant force on the offensive line, is expected to contribute immediately. The Giants may deploy him at guard, where the roster has a pressing need. Greg Van Roten, who started at right guard for the past two seasons, remains an unrestricted free agent, while left guard Jon Runyan Jr. is in the final year of his contract.

Mauigoa wasted no time in expressing his commitment to the team and its quarterback, Jaxson Dart. Following the selection, he donned a Giants cap and delivered a powerful message:

"I am ready to die for you."

The Giants’ draft strategy reflects a balanced approach to strengthening both sides of the ball, with Mauigoa and Reese poised to make an impact in the 2025 season.
