Color Health CEO Othman Laraki has identified a critical challenge in cancer care: a scaling problem. Rapid advancements in medical science continually raise the bar for treatment standards, making cancer management increasingly complex. Meanwhile, the number of cancer patients is growing faster than the supply of oncologists, and healthcare costs are surging.

Laraki argues that these pressures make it difficult for patients to receive optimal therapy. His proposed solution is a shift toward virtual-first, AI-driven cancer care.

“In our mind, the only way this is going to be addressed and solved is in a virtual first, AI-driven manner,” Laraki said. “In the coming years, the biggest cancer centers will be virtual first.”

While virtual cancer care may seem counterintuitive—given the hands-on nature of treatments like surgery, radiation, and infusions—Color Health has developed a virtual cancer clinic. This includes a virtual tumor board, where multidisciplinary experts collaborate to deliver and manage high-quality care.

The company recently earned certification from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) to validate its approach. This certification underscores Color Health’s commitment to maintaining clinical excellence in a digital-first model.
