Anthony Richardson returned to the Indianapolis Colts' voluntary offseason program on Monday, ending a two-week absence. The rookie quarterback had requested a trade, and the Colts have indicated they would like to move him. However, general manager Chris Ballard stated last week that the team will remain patient.

Colts offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter shared his perspective on Richardson's return and future role. "Anthony showed up here ready to work this week and, shoot, we’re gonna get some good work out of him and try to get him better and get him opportunities to go work his drills and get some throws and all that good stuff," Cooter said, via video from James Boyd of The Athletic.

Richardson suffered a fractured orbital bone in his eye during a freak pregame accident on October 12. When asked about Richardson's eyesight, Cooter declined to comment, stating, "I would not speak about a young man's vision."

Daniel Jones remains the unquestioned starter, but the Colts must decide how to allocate practice reps between Richardson and rookie Riley Leonard. Cooter addressed the situation, saying, "We work through how we want to do that thing. Who’s with what group is not any sort of news I’m trying to break here today, but guys are out there getting work. There's reps to go all around. There's throws to make. There's reps to get in drills. Those guys are all part of the thing and getting reps."
