The Indianapolis Colts have released cornerback Kenny Moore II after he requested a trade in April that ultimately did not materialize. The team announced his release on Thursday, marking the end of Moore’s seven-year stint with the franchise.

General manager Chris Ballard had previously indicated that a release was a possible outcome if a trade could not be arranged. By waiving Moore, the Colts will save $7.06 million against the salary cap, though they will incur a $6.05 million dead cap charge.

Moore, who turns 30 this year, joined the Colts in 2017 and went on to play 132 games with 111 starts. During his tenure, he recorded 21 interceptions, 68 passes defensed, six forced fumbles, and 11.5 sacks. His standout 2021 season earned him a Pro Bowl selection.

In a related move, the Colts also waived linebacker John Bullock, who was claimed off waivers in January.
