The Detroit Lions have completed a major milestone in their roster-building process. On Tuesday, the franchise announced the signing of its entire 2026 NFL Draft class, solidifying the team’s future with seven new rookie contracts.
The newly signed players include:
- Blake Miller – First-round offensive tackle
- Derrick Moore – Second-round edge rusher
- Jimmy Rolder – Fourth-round linebacker
- Keith Abney – Fifth-round cornerback
- Kendrick Law – Fifth-round receiver
- Skyler Gill-Howard – Sixth-round defensive tackle
- Tyre West – Seventh-round defensive lineman
Each player has agreed to a four-year contract, aligning with standard rookie deal structures.
Positional Shifts and Competition
Blake Miller, the Lions’ first-round selection, is expected to compete for the starting right tackle position. This move comes after Penei Sewell, a 2021 first-round pick, has primarily manned the right tackle spot in recent seasons. However, with the release of veteran Taylor Decker in March, Sewell will transition to left tackle, opening the door for Miller to vie for the right-side role.
