The Miami Dolphins selected Louisville wide receiver Chris Bell with the 94th overall pick in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Despite a history of injury, Bell’s talent and production earned him a spot in the draft class.
Bell suffered a torn ACL in his left knee during the Cardinals’ 38-6 loss to SMU on November 22, 2023. The injury required surgery, which was performed by Dr. Dan Cooper, the Cowboys’ team physician, in Dallas shortly after the incident.
According to a recent report, Bell is ahead of schedule in his rehabilitation process. His recovery timeline may have influenced his draft position, though his collegiate performance remained a key factor.
In the 2023 season, Bell recorded 72 receptions for 917 yards and six touchdowns across 11 games. His production demonstrated his potential as a reliable receiver at the collegiate level.
The Dolphins have made significant changes to their wide receiver room this offseason. The team moved on from Tyreek Hill and traded Jaylen Waddle. Miami also drafted Texas Tech wide receiver Darius Washington with the 75th overall pick to bolster their receiving corps.
