Bandai Namco and A24 have officially announced that the Elden Ring movie will hit theaters on March 3, 2028. Filming is scheduled to begin in the next several weeks, marking a significant step forward for the long-awaited project.

The film was first revealed over a year ago, and this update provides fresh momentum for fans eagerly awaiting its release. While the full cast has been announced, the companies have not yet disclosed specific roles or character portrayals.

Alex Garland, fresh off directing Civil War, will write and direct the film. Garland is known for his work in sci-fi, including Ex Machina, Annihilation, and the TV series Devs. However, this will be his first major foray into fantasy, raising questions about how he will adapt the magic-filled world of The Lands Between.

Fans will have nearly two years to wait before the movie’s release. By then, theaters will have already seen two new Avengers and Star Wars films. Additionally, the original Elden Ring game is set to receive new DLC content this year, featuring armor sets, weapons, and skins.
