Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. promised "radical transparency" during his tenure, yet agencies under his control have repeatedly suppressed scientific research that contradicts his anti-vaccine stance.

On Tuesday, The New York Times reported that the Department of Health and Human Services confirmed the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) blocked the publication of studies demonstrating the safety and efficacy of vaccines for COVID-19 and shingles.

This follows a Washington Post report from last month revealing that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) scrapped a peer-reviewed study that found COVID-19 vaccines significantly reduced the risk of emergency care and hospitalization among healthy adults. The study was rejected by Kennedy’s acting CDC director, who cited concerns about its methodology.

FDA Scientists Forced to Withdraw Vaccine Studies

At the FDA, two studies on COVID-19 vaccines by agency scientists were initially accepted for publication in medical journals. However, unnamed FDA officials directed the scientists to withdraw the studies, according to The Times.

A preliminary abstract of one study, presented at a conference last fall, remains publicly available online. However, The Times obtained a copy of the full manuscript, which concluded:

"Given the available evidence, FDA continues to conclude the benefits of vaccination outweigh the risks."
