During the Final Fantasy XIV Fan Festival 2026 US keynote, Director and Producer Naoki Yoshida shared concept art for characters, towns, and locations featured in the upcoming FFXIV Evercold expansion. All images showcased areas still in development, with no finished content revealed to avoid spoilers for Patch 7.5 Part 1 and Part 2, which will introduce new additions to the MMORPG’s main scenario quests (MSQ) for subscribers and Dawntrail players.

As introduced in the first FFXIV Evercold trailer, players will journey to the Fourth Reflection of Hydaelyn, a realm described as “fallen into ruin.” The environment is dominated by ice, and massive arcane entities roam the landscape. Yoshida confirmed the presence of many such behemoths but did not specify their nature—whether they are allies, hostile forces, or neutral entities.

The first segment of the keynote highlighted general concept art for various locations and one of these arcane giants. The slides provided insights into the architectural design of settlements and the appearance of Aetheryte crystals in this new reflection. Below are the initial locations revealed within the Fourth Reflection:

  • Concept art for key locations in the Fourth Reflection
  • Architectural designs of new settlements
  • Visuals of Aetheryte crystals in the expansion

Following the location reveals, Yoshida showcased concept art for several towns, offering a closer look at how the harsh environment shapes their design and layout. Images of these towns are available below.

The keynote concluded with a preview of concept art for a new race of NPCs in FFXIV Evercold. These characters are cat-like residents of a specific town, with art depicting both an individual and their village featured in the presentation.
