The New York Giants explored potential trade scenarios for edge rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux during the 2024 NFL Draft, according to multiple reports. Despite pre-draft speculation, Thibodeaux remained with the Giants after no deal materialized.

Trade discussions gained traction ahead of the second round on April 27, when reports surfaced that the Giants and New Orleans Saints had engaged in preliminary talks. Giants general manager Joe Schoen initially denied any trade conversations involving Thibodeaux that day, but subsequent reporting suggested otherwise.

According to Dan Duggan of The Athletic, the Giants sought a second-round draft pick in exchange for Thibodeaux, while the Saints' most competitive offer was believed to be a fourth-round selection. Ultimately, New Orleans traded a fifth-round pick to the Las Vegas Raiders for edge rusher Tyree Wilson, opting against pursuing Thibodeaux.

The Giants selected safety Arvell Reese with the fifth overall pick in the draft. The move has raised questions about how the Giants will structure their defensive lineup, given the presence of Reese, Thibodeaux, Brian Burns, and Abdul Carter on the roster. With Thibodeaux remaining with the team, the Giants will need to address defensive alignment in the coming months.
