Pro Football Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor, 67, is currently receiving treatment for pancreatitis, according to TMZ Sports.
Pancreatitis is a medical condition characterized by inflammation of the pancreas. Taylor was transported to the emergency room at a New Jersey medical facility last week.
On Monday, an attorney for Taylor confirmed the hospitalization in a statement. Attorney Mark Eiglarsh revealed that Taylor is suffering from a non-life-threatening stomach issue. While doctors have not yet determined a discharge date, they noted that Taylor is showing signs of improvement.
Taylor played for the New York Giants from 1981 to 1993, earning two Super Bowl rings during his career. His contributions to the team led to the retirement of his jersey number, No. 56. In recognition of his achievements, Taylor was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1999.
