YouTube CEO Neal Mohan announced on Tuesday that YouTube TV is rolling out fully customizable multiview, giving users the ability to mix and match live streams according to their preferences.

"Users now have full control to mix and match live streams and build the personalized viewing experience you've been asking for," Mohan stated in the announcement.

With this update, subscribers can pin up to four streams simultaneously in their multiview window.

Evolution of Multiview on YouTube TV

YouTube initially introduced multiview in 2023 in a more limited capacity, focusing on preselected streams of sports content such as March Madness.

The feature was later expanded to include preselected streams on topics like news, business, and weather programming. Last year, YouTube began experimenting with user-built multiviews, allowing subscribers to create their own custom layouts.

This latest update marks the full rollout of that capability, providing users with greater flexibility in how they consume live content.
