iRobot has announced a new line of eight Roomba robot vacuums, marking a significant upgrade over its previous lineup. The announcement comes nearly a year after the company introduced its first lidar-based robot vacuums, just before filing for bankruptcy.
This week, iRobot unveiled eight new models that feature several key improvements, including:
- Higher suction power for better cleaning performance
- Smaller overall size to enhance navigation in homes
- More models equipped with roller mops
- Introduction of "hot spot mopping" for targeted cleaning
The new Roombas are also more affordable, with some models priced up to £200 (approximately $270) cheaper than previous versions. Additionally, iRobot claims that the new lineup is up to 25% smaller, making them more maneuverable in tight spaces.
iRobot, which has undergone a corporate reboot, is now owned by Shenzhen Picea Robotics, a Chinese original design manufacturer specializing in robotic vacuums.
