Jeep and Marvel are expanding their partnership beyond the Wrangler A250 to promote Avengers: Doomsday, the highly anticipated Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film scheduled for release on December 18.

While Jeep has not confirmed whether its vehicles will appear in the movie, the brand will play a key role in the film’s marketing efforts. During a media briefing, Olivier François, Stellantis’ global chief marketing officer, remained tight-lipped about Jeep’s potential involvement, stating, “We’ll have to wait and see.”

The collaboration comes as Marvel’s secrecy around the film persists, with only a few confirmed details emerging. Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans will reprise their roles as Iron Man and Captain America, respectively, and will be joined by Chris Hemsworth, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, and classic X-Men actors. The film is expected to feature a mix of returning and new superheroes.

François also highlighted Jeep’s long-standing connection to pop culture, noting the Wrangler’s iconic role in Jurassic Park. The brand has previously leveraged this association in campaigns for Jurassic World: Rebirth and Jurassic World Dominion.

Jeep’s 85th Anniversary and America’s 250th Birthday Tie-In

François revealed that Jeep and Captain America are celebrating their 85th anniversaries this year, both embodying patriotic themes. This alignment coincides with America’s upcoming 250th birthday, a milestone François described as a “huge cultural moment.”

The timing of the collaboration proved fortuitous, as Jeep had long considered a partnership with Marvel, particularly around Captain America. The automaker’s proposal ultimately aligned with Marvel’s plans for Avengers: Doomsday.

Wrangler America250 Edition: A Nod to the 1970s Super Jeep

Vince Galante, Jeep’s global head of design, shared insights into the Wrangler America250 Edition, which draws inspiration from the country’s bicentennial in 1976 and the classic Super Jeep packages of the 1970s.

The Super Jeep was known for its bold design, featuring flowing red and blue stripes reminiscent of a flag in the wind. This aesthetic is subtly echoed in the A250, which includes U-shaped blue and red hood decals and matching stripes along the body.

Automotive Marvel: A History of Product Placement

Marvel’s MCU has a long history of featuring high-profile vehicles. Audi has been closely associated with the franchise, appearing in Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Iron Man 3, Captain America: Civil War, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Age of Ultron, and Avengers: Endgame.

Other automakers have also made appearances, including Acura in Thor and The Avengers, and Lexus, which featured an LC model in Black Panther.
