After months of speculation, Cypic, CyberAgent, and Shueisha have officially confirmed the production of an anime adaptation for Takeru Hokazono's popular manga series Kagurabachi.

The anime will begin airing worldwide in April 2027, marking a major milestone for the franchise. In a groundbreaking move, the production team will host a worldwide episode 1 tour at select anime conventions ahead of the premiere. Attendees will be treated to a 20-minute preview of the first episode, offering an early glimpse into the series.

To build anticipation, the first official trailer has been released, and the official website is now live in both Japanese and English.

Production Team and Key Staff

The anime is being produced by Cypic, a studio under Cygames, known for its work on Umamusume: Cinderella Gray. The series will be directed by Tetsuya Takeuchi, while Keigo Sasaki will serve as the character designer.

Only one voice actor has been announced so far: Taihi Kimura, who will voice the lead character, Chihiro Rokuhira. Kimura, though relatively new to the industry, is recognized for his role as Takumi Sumino in The Hundred Line: Last Defense Academy.

Manga Success and Upcoming Story Arcs

The Kagurabachi manga has gained significant popularity since its debut in September 2023. To date, 10 volumes have been released in Japan, with more on the way. The story’s momentum suggests that major arcs such as Vs. Sojo and Rakuzaichi may be adapted in the anime.

The series’ success has already spawned merchandise, including a Nendoroid figure of Chihiro Rokuhira.
