Saturday Night Live actor Kam Patterson took aim at NBA player Klay Thompson during this week’s Weekend Update, mocking his relationship with rapper Megan Thee Stallion and joking about stepping into the role himself.

After learning Thompson is a basketball player, Patterson quipped,

"Wait a minute, there’s a WNBA for men? What would you even call that, the MNBA?"

Patterson’s primary focus was positioning himself as Megan’s next partner. He opened with a grin, telling co-host Chloe Ce,

"Wow, Megan Thee Stallion is single. I’m so upset."

Che replied,

"Really? Because it looks like you’re beaming."

Patterson responded,

"This is a smile of desperation — of des — I’m sad."

He also expressed concern for Megan after she left Moulin Rouge early, asking,

"Who would cheat on Megan Thee Stallion? Who even is this guy?"

When Che asked if he knew Klay Thompson, Patterson feigned ignorance before being told Thompson is a world-famous pro basketball player. He then doubled down with,

"Wait a minute, there’s a WNBA for men? What would you even call that? The MNBA?"

Patterson concluded,

"To me, he’s not clay. He’s dirt!"
before declaring Megan deserves a "real man"—one who sounds like himself.

Megan Thee Stallion announced her split from Thompson on April 25, accusing him of cheating in an Instagram Story post. She wrote,

"Holding you down through all your HORRIBLE mood swings and treatment towards me during your basketball season now you don’t know if you can be ‘monogamous?’"

She added,

"B–chs I need a REAL break after this one. Bye yall."
