The Lenovo Legion Go S, a premium 8-inch handheld gaming device, has seen its price nearly double since its launch last summer. Originally priced at $829.99, the SteamOS version with the Z1 Extreme chip now retails for $1,579.99 at Best Buy—a staggering increase of 89.9%.
This price surge outpaces even Lenovo’s flagship Legion Go 2, which recently saw price hikes of up to $650 earlier this month. While not every Legion Go S configuration has doubled in price, none have remained close to their original cost.
For comparison, the Asus Xbox Ally X is still available for $999, and the MSI Claw 8 AI Plus can be found for $1,049. The steep price jump for the Legion Go S raises concerns about its market competitiveness and value proposition.
