Mercedes-Benz has officially introduced its first-ever electric C-Class, the C 400 4MATIC Electric, positioning it as the sportiest and most advanced iteration of the model to date. The launch prioritizes the U.S. market, with other global regions following later.
The brand emphasizes that the new electric C-Class surpasses its internal combustion engine (ICE) predecessors in performance and design. Key features include Airmatic air suspension and rear-axle steering, delivering sharp handling and long-distance comfort.
The C 400 4MATIC Electric boasts a sleeker, coupe-like silhouette with a GT-inspired rear and a distinctive illuminated grille featuring 1,050 tiny stars. Inside, the cabin adopts a futuristic luxury aesthetic, offering options such as a 39.1-inch Hyperscreen, an AI-powered voice assistant, massage seats, and 4D audio.
The electric sedan delivers a WLTP-certified range of up to 473 miles (762 km), while its 800-volt charging system enables rapid charging—adding 202 miles (325 km) in just 10 minutes.
U.S. sales will commence first, with initial deliveries expected in dealerships during the first half of 2027. This marks a significant shift in Mercedes-Benz’s strategy, prioritizing the American market for the launch of its new electric sedan.
