Speculation about a potential tech mogul acquiring the Seattle Seahawks has ended abruptly. On Thursday, Front Office Sports reported that Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg was exploring a bid for the NFL team. However, a Meta spokesperson quickly clarified to Bloomberg that Zuckerberg has no interest in the purchase.

The initial report also mentioned that Apple’s recently retired CEO Tim Cook was interested in acquiring the Seahawks. Yet, a source close to Apple dismissed the claim as “completely false.”

Zuckerberg’s financial capacity to buy the Seahawks outright—without debt or partners—has been widely noted. Yet, as of now, he has no plans to proceed with an acquisition. The Front Office Sports report indicated that four individuals were exploring bids for the team, though the identities of the other two potential buyers remain undisclosed.

In February, the NFL suggested that an unexpected tech billionaire could emerge as a buyer, viewing it as a strategic move for someone with significant wealth to gain public visibility. The league’s history shows that sports ownership often serves as a high-profile platform for the ultra-wealthy, offering prestige and influence beyond financial returns.
