Windows users will no longer face forced automatic updates during critical moments like gaming or work. Microsoft is rolling out long-awaited changes to Windows Update for users in its Dev and Experimental Windows Insider channels.

These updates include the ability to indefinitely delay updates up to 35 days at a time. Previously, users could only pause updates for a limited period before they resumed automatically.

Last month, Microsoft announced a series of improvements to Windows 11, aiming to address common user frustrations. The most significant change was making updates less disruptive. In a blog post on Friday, Microsoft stated:

"You'll be able to extend the pause end date as many times as you want."

This feature is part of Microsoft’s broader effort to refine the Windows 11 experience, responding to feedback from users who found automatic updates inconvenient or poorly timed.
