According to Ram, the recall affects approximately 12,736 Ram 2500 HD pickup trucks built between June 21, 2022, and April 14, 2026.

The recalled trucks are equipped with R-rated tires from the factory, which have a maximum speed rating of 106 miles per hour. Normally, Ram HD trucks are electronically limited to 105 mph to stay within this safety margin. However, the defect in the recalled models allows speeds to exceed this limit.
The exact extent of the speed increase remains unclear, as Ram has not specified how much higher the limiters were set.

Owners of the affected vehicles will need to visit a Ram dealership for a Powertrain Control Module software update. This update will correct the speed limiter settings to ensure compliance with tire safety standards.
