Neon has acquired the North American distribution rights to filmmaker James Gray’s upcoming drama ‘Paper Tiger’, starring Scarlett Johansson, Adam Driver, and Miles Teller, a company representative confirmed to TheWrap.

The film, shot during summer 2024, centers on two brothers—played by Driver and Teller—who pursue the American dream but find themselves drawn into a dangerous scheme involving the Russian ‘Mafiya’, according to the official synopsis.

Neon’s Strong 2025 Run and Upcoming Releases

Neon is riding high following a banner 2025, which included the release of Oscar-nominated critical favorites:

  • ‘Sentimental Value’
  • ‘It Was Just an Accident’
  • ‘The Secret Agent’
  • ‘Sirāt’

James Gray’s Partnership with Neon

Paper Tiger’ marks Gray’s first collaboration with Neon after Focus Features distributed his 2022 film ‘Armageddon Time’. Previously, Gray directed the 2019 Brad Pitt sci-fi film ‘Ad Astra’ for 20th Century Fox.
