German actor Sebastian Koch has joined the cast of Matt Reeves’ The Batman: Part II, as announced by Reeves on social media on May 14, 2026.

The film is set to begin production this spring, with Sebastian Stan confirmed as Harvey Dent and Scarlett Johansson cast as Dent’s wife.
DC Studios’ Enthusiasm for Reeves’ Vision
During the DC Studios presentation last year, Peter Safran, co-chief of DC Studios, shared an update on The Batman: Part II:
“James [Gunn] and I, we love Matt Reeves’ vision for The Batman: Part II. And we’re looking forward to this film as much as you are.”

The Batman, released in March 2022, was co-written by Reeves and Peter Craig, with Mattson Tomlin serving as an uncredited writer. Since then, fans have eagerly awaited news about the sequel’s script, with TheWrap reporting on the ongoing development process behind the scenes.

While details about the plot remain scarce, key cast members have been confirmed, including Robert Pattinson as Batman and Andy Serkis returning as Alfred Pennyworth.
