Netflix is reportedly close to securing exclusive streaming rights for the 2027 NFL Honors ceremony, according to Ryan Glasspiegel of Front Office Sports. The event, which celebrates the best performers from the most recent NFL season, is traditionally televised by the NFL Network and the broadcast network airing the Super Bowl.
If finalized, the agreement would make Netflix the exclusive streaming home for the awards show. A deal announcement could come as early as Wednesday, during Netflix’s annual upfront presentation for advertisers in New York.
The latest edition of NFL Honors drew 3.7 million viewers, a modest figure compared to major NFL events but still outperforming most live TV broadcasts. This deal would mark Netflix’s continued expansion into sports-related content, following its agreement to stream five NFL games in 2026.
Ted Sarandos, Netflix CEO, emphasized on Tuesday that the company does not seek full-season sports packages, reinforcing its preference for event-based streaming rights.
