The New York Giants have declined the fifth-year option on cornerback Deonte Banks, making him an unrestricted free agent in 2026, per Jordan Raanan of ESPN.
By forgoing the option, the Giants have set the final year of Banks’ rookie contract as 2026. Had they exercised the option, New York would have owed him $12.633 million guaranteed in 2027.
Banks, selected with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, has appeared in 45 games with 35 starts. He has recorded 28 total passes defensed and two interceptions during his career. Notably, Banks has not recorded a pick since his rookie season.
For the 2026 season, Banks is slated to earn a $2.6 million base salary.
