The Las Vegas Raiders have made a roster adjustment, announcing the signing of linebacker Cameron McGrone and the corresponding release of wide receiver Brenden Rice on Monday.
Raiders Sign Cameron McGrone
McGrone, who will turn 26 next month, brings defensive experience to the Raiders' roster. Last season, he appeared in five games—four with the Indianapolis Colts and one with the Cleveland Browns—recording 43 defensive snaps and 68 on special teams. He also contributed two tackles during his limited action.
Selected by the New England Patriots in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft, McGrone did not play in any regular-season games before joining the Colts in December 2022. His career totals include 27 games played across multiple teams.
Raiders Waive Brenden Rice
Brenden Rice, the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, has been released by the Raiders. Rice signed a futures contract with Las Vegas in January after spending part of the 2023 season on the team’s practice squad. The Los Angeles Chargers selected Rice in the seventh round of the 2024 NFL Draft, though he has also been with the Patriots and Seahawks.
At 24 years old, Rice has appeared in three career games, all during his rookie season with the Chargers in 2024.
