Rivian R2 Launch Package: Free Key Fob, Lifetime Autonomy+ Subscription & More for Early Buyers

Rivian has introduced the R2 Performance Launch Package, a limited-time offering that rewards early buyers of the electric crossover with several premium features at no extra cost.

When Rivian unveiled the production R2 last month, the company hinted at the Launch Package. Now that production is underway, the automaker has provided additional details about the package’s inclusions.

What’s Included in the R2 Launch Package?

The Launch Package is available for a “limited time” and comes standard on the R2 Performance model. Rivian is offering these upgrades as a thank-you to early adopters who placed their confidence in the brand.

1. Exclusive Key Fob with Carabiner Design

One of the standout features is a special key fob that resembles a carabiner. It features a green anodized finish with a contrasting golden accent on the lower half, adding a unique touch to the ownership experience.

2. Standard Tow Package

The package includes a standard tow package, which is typically an optional add-on for the R2 Performance. This enables the electric crossover to tow up to 4,400 lbs (1,996 kg), significantly outperforming competitors like the Jeep Recon, which has a towing capacity of 3,300 lbs (1,497 kg).

3. Lifetime Autonomy+ Subscription

Perhaps the most valuable inclusion is a lifetime subscription to Autonomy+, Rivian’s hands-free driving system. This subscription provides Universal Hands-Free driving on over 3.5 million miles (5.6 million km) of roads across the United States and Canada.

Normally, Autonomy+ costs $49.99 per month or $2,500 as a one-time purchase. Its inclusion in the Launch Package represents a significant value for early buyers.

4. Launch Green Exterior Color

Customers can also opt for the Launch Green exterior color, a hue that debuted on the Launch versions of the R1. While Rivian has not yet announced the additional cost for this color, the R2 will be available in other colors, including Esker Silver, Catalina Cove, Half Moon Grey, Glacier White, Midnight, and Forest Green.

R2 Performance Model Overview

The R2 Performance starts at $57,990 and is equipped with a dual-motor all-wheel drive system that delivers 656 hp (489 kW / 665 PS) and 609 lb-ft (825 Nm) of torque. This powertrain enables the crossover to accelerate from 0–60 mph (0-96 km/h) in 3.6 seconds and travel up to 330 miles (531 km) on a single charge.

Additional highlights of the R2 Performance include:

• Rear liftgate with drop-down glass
• Compass Yellow accents
• 21-inch wheels

The interior is available in two color schemes: Black Crater and Coastal Cloud, both featuring Birch wood trim and soft textile accents. Other interior features include:

• 12-way power front seats with heating and ventilation
• Heated rear seats
• Heated steering wheel
• Nine-speaker premium audio system
• Flashlight integrated into the driver’s door
