Volkswagen has confirmed significant updates to its 2027 vehicle lineup, including the introduction of a redesigned Atlas Cross Sport and the return of the ID. Buzz with a new camping-focused trim.

Atlas Cross Sport: Modern Design and Advanced Tech

The redesigned Atlas Cross Sport is set to debut later in 2025 and will likely be priced lower than its seven-seat Atlas counterpart. While Volkswagen has not disclosed extensive details, the model is expected to share design and interior features with the standard Atlas.

Key features of the Atlas Cross Sport include:

  • A modern design with a classier cabin
  • A 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster
  • A choice of a 12.9-inch or 15-inch infotainment system

ID. Buzz Returns with Camping-Focused Trim

The ID. Buzz makes a comeback for the 2027 model year, following its absence in 2026. The refreshed model introduces two new trims: Pro S 4Motion and Tourer 4Motion, with the latter designed with camping enthusiasts in mind.

The camping-focused Tourer 4Motion trim includes:

  • A fold-out mattress for sleeping
  • Window blinds for privacy
  • Ventilation panels for the front windows
  • Camping gear, including an exterior table and chairs
  • Second-row captain’s chairs
  • An electrochromic smart roof
  • A retractable tow hitch
  • 20-inch dark graphite wheels with black discs
  • Overnight Mode software to extend vehicle power usage

Additional updates for the ID. Buzz include:

  • A new Android-based infotainment system with an improved user experience and a new app store
  • A one-pedal driving mode
  • A NACS charging adapter
  • A revised color palette, with the only two-tone option being Candy White over Cherry Red

2027 Taos: New Sport Trim and Enhanced Features

The 2027 Taos introduces a new Sport trim, positioned above the entry-level S variant. The Sport trim features:

  • A revised exterior with black and gunmetal accents
  • Black 18-inch wheels
  • Privacy glass
  • Embossed black cloth seats with yellow contrast stitching

Other enhancements for the 2027 Taos include:

  • Two additional speakers for the base Taos S, bringing the total to six
