Sony has outlined its strategic stance on artificial intelligence (AI) in game development during its Friday earnings presentation, detailing how AI is being evaluated as a tool for creating PlayStation games.

Generative AI has recently been incorporated into larger game projects, though many indie developers continue to oppose its use. Sony acknowledges AI as a "powerful tool" but stresses that "the vision, the design, and the emotional impact of our games will always come from the talent of our studios and performers."

According to Sony, AI is intended to augment human capabilities rather than replace them. The company highlights that developers at its own studios are already using AI to automate repetitive workflows, streamline processes, and enhance productivity.
