Spencer Pratt has firmly denied reports that a reality show is being produced to chronicle his personal and political life amid his campaign for Los Angeles mayor.

The claims, first reported by TMZ and later echoed by Deadline, suggested that Boardwalk Pictures—the production company behind Netflix’s documentary AKA Charlie Sheen—was developing the series. However, Pratt’s representatives told TheWrap in an email statement that the reports are false.

Pratt’s Team Rejects Reality Show Claims

A spokesperson for Pratt stated,

"This is inaccurate. There is no series in production and cameras have not been following the campaign."

When asked whether a contract had been signed to film if Pratt were elected, the spokesperson added,

"He does not have any signed contract. No contract exists related to this because it isn’t true."

Contradictory Reports Surface

The initial TMZ report claimed Boardwalk Pictures was set to produce the series and would begin filming with Pratt’s family soon. A follow-up report from Deadline on the same day alleged that production had already started, stating that

"initial footage is in the can."

Representatives for Boardwalk Pictures did not respond to TheWrap’s request for comment. The company has a history of producing unscripted content, including the FX series Welcome to Wrexham (co-led by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney) and Netflix’s AKA Charlie Sheen.

What the Proposed Show Would Have Entailed

According to Deadline, the reality series would have followed Pratt through the June 2 primary election and potentially up to the November general election, should he advance to the runoff as one of the top two candidates.

A production source told Deadline,

"It’s both familiar and uncharted territory, isn’t it? That part of Spencer and Heidi’s appeal, right?"

Pratt’s Political and Reality TV Background

Pratt, best known for his villainous role on the 2000s reality series The Hills, met his wife, Heidi Montag, on the show. Montag recently competed on the latest season of The Masked Singer on Fox.

The couple was previously developing a reality show for Hulu to document their lives after losing their Palisades home in the Los Angeles fires last year. However, that project has not been greenlit.

Pratt, who authored the memoir The Guy You Love to Hate, announced his candidacy for Los Angeles mayor earlier this year. His opponents in the race include incumbent Mayor Karen Bass, L.A. Councilmember Nithya Raman, entrepreneur Adam Miller, and Rev. Rae Huang, among others.

Campaign Tactics and Upcoming Election

Pratt has gained attention during his campaign for using AI-generated advertisements and placing a trailer on the site of his burned home, falsely claiming he still lived there.

The primary election to determine the top two candidates for L.A. mayor is scheduled for Tuesday, June 2.
